Porch sessions

While the world right now seems like its turned upside down, a time that the whole world is going through the same thing, some have it worse than others but here in BC we have tried really hard to flatten the curve.

We aren’t allowed to visit with anyone outside of our household, no parks are open, schools are closed and most people aren’t working and if they are its from home or they are considered a essential service.

A lot of the time people can’t commit to doing family sessions because coordinating schedules is sometimes hard but now, everyone is home. Everyone and everything has slowed down.

A few photographers have offered porch sessions for families. I decided to do the same but give half the amount raised to Backpack Buddies.

“B.C. schools are suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The nearly 1,500 kids we serve will not be returning to class as planned, and their parents who rely on school breakfast and lunch programs to feed them, are scrambling to make ends meet.” “All it takes is $15 to cover the costs of an enhanced bag of food. In addition to the 6 meals and snacks our kids would normally receive over the weekend, we are adding extra snacks, meals and whole foods including pasta, rice, soups, canned proteins and other pantry staples. As always, everything we pack will be kid-friendly, accessible and easy to prepare.”

Day one we raised $500 for backpack buddies.

Attached is some photos from the recent porch sessions.

Its nice to see Vancouver come together and help those in need.

Vancouver summer

Self isolation… week 6.

Go through personal photos and make photo books because that has been on my list for YEARS!

Then you stumble across old photos of your kids!

Here is to checking things off our long to do list, something is so satisfying about it!

Family sunset session

A beautiful night full of adventure and fun! Sometimes families come with older children and wonder how the session is going to turn out. I want to your family to still be themselves.. be playful, be goofy! We will still get the classic family shot but we will also get some great candid shots too.

At home Newborn session

Something so special about going to someones home to do their newborn photos. The older kids… even the husbands ;) feel more comfortable. I usually start with some family photos cozied up on the bed and then some of baby alone and then sibling!

Also the other bonus is, you don’t have to go anywhere! I come to you, no packing baby and everyone up

Thank you to this beautiful family for having me at their home and capturing this beautiful newborn session.

Melisa + Harolds- studio intimate couple session

Intimate couples sessions.

Imagine this, you come to my studio or I come to your home, whatever you feel comfortable. Your favourite music playing, a outfit that you feel sexy in, a couple of your favourite drinks to loosen everyone up.. My goal is to capture intimate photos of you and your partner. Some of my favourites from M&H shoot at the studio.

Liam's newborn session

This family came into their session ready to go! Outfits perfectly coordinated, well groomed and everyone was happy! This doesn’t happen every session let alone with 4 kids in tow! Bravo to this mama. She has 4 under 5- so crazzzzy! Liam was so perfect, let me pose him however I wanted and slept like a dream!

Congratulations to this beautiful family.

Theo's Newborn Session

Theo’s newborn session was amazing, he came super sleepy and slept the entire time!

I couldn’t wait to photograph his cute little features. Mom & Dad were super smitten with their new babe so it made the family photos super easy.

Here are a few of my favourites from his session.

R's Maternity Session

When a client contacts me early on in her pregnancy telling me how excited they are to finally be able to do photos with me is super sweet and makes me super excited about working with them. Bonus points when a client fully trusts me with their session and my creative juices just flow!!! Bring a bunch of clothes, lingerie and we can play dress up! I do have dresses at the studio for clients to use as well. This session was so fun and I am so excited for this family and I cannot wait to meet their little girl.

Summer's newborn session

Summer’s newborn session was a photographers dream.

I give all my clients preparation on how to prepare for their session. It includes wardrobe suggestions and how to get your baby ready for their session. Lets just say they nailed it with the outfits! I love soft colors, no logos or prints and keep the focus on the family and baby not the clothes. I also feel like it makes the photos more classic and timeless looking.

Summer was such a perfect newborn, she slept the entire time and let me pose her I wanted! Perfect skin too!

Their session was a newborn mini but still in that 1 hour session we got a gallery full of different images and poses.

My favourite images from her session
